8 Tools for Tracking Weather Forecasts in Firefox

With Hurricane Gustave downgraded, and Hurricane Hanna and Tropical Storm Ike on the horizon, keeping track of the weather seems as important as ever. Weather services aside, there are several ways you can monitor forecasts using Firefox.
While most of these tools cater towards those in the United States, there are a few international solutions available, and even one just for finding out what the wind conditions are!
As with any list of Firefox tools, please do not install all of these at once unless you’d like to slow down your browser.

1-Click Weather – The official extension from Weather.com that gives you quick access to warnings, maps, your local forecast, videos and more.

Fastweather – A little extension that just tells you the current temperature based on weather stations near you. Updates every 5 minutes as opposed to most only updating once an hour.

ForecastFox AccuWeather.com – Though it shares the name of another extension, this is from a different author and works with AccuWeather.com.

ForecastFox Weather.com – Works with Weather.com to give you the forecast for cities outside of the United States.

HR Weather – HR Weather provides forecasts for a handful of locations in Croatia where our own Stan Schroeder hails from.

Met Office – A Firefox sidebar from the Met Office, the UK’s official weather service.

WeatherBug – The popular desktop weather forecaster can also reside inside of your favorite browser.

Windfox – Works with Windfinder.com to give you up to the minute weather information for surfing and sailing.
